White has also played for New Zealand Police and New Zealand Maoris, and was the top scorer in club football last season. J. L. White has represented Canterbury

The transfers will strengthen a young Addington team which had six Canterbury senior reserve representatives last season. Conversely, Linwood’s chances of retaining the senior championship will be greatly decreased, especially in the absence of the White brothers’ goal-kicking.
