UNIVERSITY VACANCIES THE UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA CHAIR OF PSYCHOLOGICAL MEDICINE APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment to the newly created Chair of Psychological Medicine. The salary of the Professor will be EA5310 p.a. with superannuation similar to F.S.S.U. A separate department of Psychological Medicine will be established within the Faculty of Medicine as from the date the successful applicant takes up duty and the appointee will be required to teach, conduct! examinations, undertake research and direct and supervise the work in Psychological Medicine. Registrar. 2650 THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY TRAINING FELLOWSHIP IN MEDICAL PHYSICS APPLICATIONS are invited for a Training Fellowship in Medical Physics, tenable in the Department of Medicine, University of Sydney. Applicants should hold a university degree, preferably with Honours, in Physics or Medicine, or in some other discipline relevant to medical physics. It is desirable, but not essential for applicants to have had some experience in their profession. The Fellowship will normally continue for three years, at a salary in the range of £l4OO to £ 1800, per annum depending upon age, qualifications and experience. The stipend may be tax free depending upon the qualifications of the appointee. The successful applicant will devote his whole time to courses of lectures and research training in the Department of Medicine, or elsewhere as directed. His studies will be supervised and assisted by Senior Lecturers in Biophysics and Radiation Medicine and other qualified members of staff. An early opportunity will be offered to initiate research in some aspect of medical physics. C. Jaeger). The Department possesses a very well equipped palaeomagnetic laboratory, operates an extensive network of seismological stations, and has a wide range of other activities. Further information about these may be obtained from Professor Jaeger. The salary and range of a Senior Fellow are fixed within the limits £A3,300-£3850. After each five years of service the Senior Fellow will be entitled to 12 months’ study leave on full pay with a grant of up to £AI3OO towards expenses. It may be possible to consider also applications from persons interested in appointment at a higher or lower status than that of Senior Fellow. Superannuation is on the F.S.S.U. pattern.
