Six of the airline’s Boeing 707 jets are on the ground in Singapore, London, Hong Kong, Honolulu, New York and . Karachi. A DC3 is stranded in Bali. Locally, everything was being done to transfer to other services those booked on scheduled flights, said the Qantas.district sales manager in Christchurch (Mr L. N Eagle). T.E.A.L. reservation agents were handling the organisation for him, he said. Many passengers booked to fly from Christchurch in the next few days would have to fly by 8.0.A.C. or T.E.A.L. from other centres, he said.
