UNIVERSITY HEAD
Dr. D. Llewellyn At Waikato (N:Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Feb. 14, Professor Donald Rees Llewellyn, professor cf chemistry at Auckland University, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato. The appointment was made at the first full meeting of the university council held at Hillcrest this morning. Dr. Llewellyn is a brother of Dr. F. J. Llewellyn, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canterbury and now chairman of the University Grants Committee. Dr. F, J. Llewellyn is also a former Auckland University professor of chemistry. Dr. Denis Rogers, Mayor of Hamilton, was appointed Chancellor, and Mr J. B. Mackenzie, manager of the Hamilton branch of Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd., Pro-Chancellor. The Waikato Public Relations Foundation was appointed interim secretary of the university.
