Miss Taylor’s Escort Required To Explain

NEW YORK, February 13. All international carriers have been notified that the British actor, Richard Burton, now in Toronto with Elizabeth Taylor, will not be permitted to enter the United States until he is cleared by immigration authorities at an “admissibility hearing.’’ The State Department has notified Congressman Michael Feighan, of Ohio, that it will not revoke Burton’s United States visa on moral grounds as Mr Feighan had demanded There is a 1000 dollar fine on. a carrier for bringing a
person into the United States after a “stop order.” “If there are no doubts about moral turpitude in the Burton case, either millions of Americans have been misled by the press or the basic concepts of morality have beefi drained from the State Department,” Mr Feighan commented. Burton is expected to present himself at Niagara Falls, the nearest port of entry to Toronto, for the hearing. He is scheduled to play “Hamlet” on Broadway in late March after a week’s engagement in Boston.
