“NO HURRY ON BIDS”
Board Advises Shareholders
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 13. The board of the Wellington Publishing Company tonight issued the following statement:— “Notice of the offer by the News, Ltd., of Adelaide, was received by the ‘Dominion* this evening and there has been no opportunity for the board to consider its details. “The board does not regard as accurate the paragraph in the statement by Mr K. R. Murdoch which reads:— “ ‘lt has now been indicated to me that all these discussions have gone for nothing and that the board, though sorely pressed by two take-over offers, and possibly more, is at present in no mood to contemplate anything?
“Our advice to shareholders, as in the case of two earlier offers, is the same—there is ample time to consider the News proposal and await further information from the ‘Dominion’ Board.”,
