BANKER’S WIFE

Many N.Z. Friends “I have made a tremendous number of friends in New Zealand, it is almost a second home,” said Mrs A. H. Ensor, wife of the chairman of directors of the Lon-don-based National Bank of New Zealand, in Christchurch yesterday. Mrs Ensor will leave for Australia tomorrow after travelling through New Zealand for five weeks with her husband. “My extra job when my husband is busy is to visit people whose relations I know in England,” said Mrs Ensor. She has a list of 32 addresses of people she has visited during her stay giving news to relations and friends, and taking news back to England. “This is something worth while I can do. It brings so much pleasure to people who have not seen their families for a long time,” said Mrs Ensor. Mrs Ensor, who lives at Chenies, Buckinghamshire, has a lot of entertaining to do because of her husband’s position. She finds people like to go to a private home when they are travelling so she usually entertains at home.

This is the fourth time Mr and Mrs Ensor have visited New Zealand in nine years.
