Obstetricians Elect Officers
■ Officers elected at the annual meeting of the New Zealand regional council of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, held at Hanmer Springs were —President, Mr S. J. Harbutt (Auckland).; secretary, Mrß. W. Grieve (Auckland); treasurer, Mr A. M. Rutherford (Wellington); council, Professors J. L. Wright (Dunedin) and G. H. Green (Auckland), Messrs G. I. Louisson (Christchurch), B. M. Corkill (Wellington), B. Fitzgerald (Dunedin), and G. Cumming (Palmerston North).
A proposal to have separate classrooms for male and female students in integrated schools “to place a barrier between white women and coloured men” has been rejected by the South Carolina Senate.
