INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT
(loser Liasion With Farmers A closer liaison between the New Zealand Institute of Management and the farming community was anticipated by Mr C. W. Ballantyne, president of the Canterbury division of the institute. “The farmers play an extremely important part in the economy of this country. They have their own management problems and they are doing a lot to solve them, but there is probably some way in which this institute can also assist,” said Mr Ballantyne. He said he expected the division to expand its range of courses both in general management and specialist activities in the coming years. The division’s manager, Mr R. E. Glenson, told toe meeting that the division had run 29 very successful courses in various aspects of management last year. The following councillors were elected:— , C. W. Ballantyne, A. F. Crotoall, O. J. Drennan. H. J. Flewellyn L. S. Frickleton, M. O. Holdsworth, R. J. Moore, J. S. Nelson, A. D. Shand, R. A. Simmonds, A. J. Smaill L. F. Luxton, I. M Quilter, E. G. Storestreet.
