Holed Japanese Ship Limps To Port

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. . With her double bottomripped wide open after hitting a rock off the east coast of the North Island, the Japanese fishing vessel Kaiko Maru, attended by five large motorised dories, limped into Wellington harbour this morning. She will go on the floating dock. Members of the crew said

that the ship was 10 miles off the New Zealand coast on Monday night when she struck with a terrific “boom, boom, boom.” The Kaiko Maru is a vessel of 817 gross tons,. built in 1954. She is owned by the Yagashita Gyogyo Company.
