LAMB KILL
For the second year in succession, the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Ltd., killed more than two million lambs in the season ended October 31. The total kill at the firm’s three Works (Belfast, Pareora, and Fairfield) in each of the last two seasons was as follows:—
1963 1962 Lambs .. 2,064,839 2,045,068 Sheep .. 380,210 392,154 Cattle .. 22,218 20,093 Average weights were: Lambs 31.0811 b (30.38 in 1962), wethers 48.921 b (48.301 b ewes 52.621 b (49.781 b Payments to clients for stock killed totalled £4,847,000.
