MOORE’S HEALTH
Warning By A.J.C. (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 17. The Australian jockey, George Moore, has been told by the Australian Jockey Club that he must produce a medical certificate of his fitness before he can fulfil riding engagements. Moore was also told by the A.J.C. committee late today that he must give an assurance that he will limit his riding to his physical ability and must ride trackwork regularly. The committee said that if Moore fulfilled these conditions it would take no further action against him.
The committee asked Moore to attend today’s special meeting following criticism of the jockey’* general health and riding engagements he has missed in recent weeks. Moore was in the committee room for more than an hour. Moore, who has not ridden since New Year’s Day, arrived in Sydney from his country property yesterday to prepare tor the inquiry. He rode trackwork at Randwick today tor the first time in a fortnight. Moore was the leading jockey tor the season until deposed by W. Camer last Saturday. He has ridden 32 winners from 117 mounts since last August. His riding has been restricted through frequent sinus trouble, but he has not missed a great number of meetings.
