Pay Rises For Book Club Employees

WELLINGTON, Dec. 15.
Increases in basic weekly pay rates of up to 8s 9d for males and to 5s 8d for females are included in a new award for New Zealand, except Taranaki, lending libaries and book club atendants issued by the Arbitration Court. Basic pay for adult workers is now £l3 5s for males and £9 5s for females. The allowances for managers or workers in charge are also increased by up to Is weekly. The new award, retrospective to November 21, includes an unqualified preference clause.
