TECHNICAL COLLEGE

The Technical College, today, was a product of the changing scene, said the Rev. M. Leadbetter, guest speaker at the Technical College prize giving, yesterday afternoon. The changing world needed men and women possessed with not only the basic technical skills, but the higher virtues, such as loyalty and honesty, he said. Young people going out into the world could be likened to buildings, and the big buildings needed deep and solid foundations. Modern buildings were emphasising more and more glass, so people could look out. Young people, too, had to learn to look out and away from themselves, Mr Leadbetter said.
