A warning that board-con-trolled schools might give way to departmental control was given by the chairman of the Riccarton High School board of governors (Mr M. C. Butler) at the annual prize-giving last evening.

Mr Butler Mid he was impressed with the post-primary council system in Christchurch and expressed a hope that parents would realise the privilege they had in the control of schools.
