RECORD TERM AS CHAIRMAN

Mr A. A. Macfariane was re-elected chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board yesterday for the fifth successive year. This is a record period for a chairman, Mr Macfariane was unopposed.

There was 'b. ballot for the deputy-chairman, and the sitting deputy, Mr F. I. Sutton, was re-elected, by six votes to four over Mr L. G. Amos. The board fixed the chairman’s honorarium at £6OO a year, the same as for last year.
