Donations Now £2746 With an offer from the Department of Lands and Survey to recommend that £ 1000 from the sale of revoked reserves be made available for Vie purchase of the Sutherland Estate bush area in Ashgrove terrace, contributions had reached £2746 towards the cost of £6OOO, said Cr. P. J, Skellerup. chairman of the City Council’s reserves committee, last evening. Cr. Skellerup is leading an appeal for funds to buy the area for preservation to the city as a reserve. He was thrilled by the offer made by the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr N. S. Coad), Cr. Skellerup said. A council decision would be needed in favour of seeking assistance from the funds held from the sale cf revoked reserves within the city. “The response is wonderful but more contributions are still needed," Cr. Skellerup said. “A donation of £lO 10s by Cr. R. H. Stillwell, a member of the reserves committee, is a practical demonstration of his support.” He listed the contributions as follows:—already acknowledged, £1558 10s 6d. £25: Pegasus Press Ltd., Dr. W.
