Right Type Of Gauge
Neither brass, copper nor any other soft metal should ever be used as a feeler gauge for setting contact breaker points. If any such metals are used particles will almost invariably scrape off on to the hard tungsten of which the points are made and cause misfiring. All feeler gauges should be made of steel.
