Disqualified Driver
Charged with driving a car while disqualified, Stewart Donald Carran, who pleaded guilty, was fined £5 and disqualified for a further 12 months by Mr H. J. Headifen, S.M., in the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court. John Francis Bergman, a passenger in Carran’s car. was fined £5 for obstructing Constable R. M. Loader. Traffic offences were as follows: Careless driving: Eugene O’Donovan £3: exceeding speed limit, Anthony Rex Mundy £4; failure to carry heavy traffic licence on vehicle, David William McClelland £5; no driver’s licence, Judi O'Donnell £3: permitting an unlicensed driver to drive. James Kite £1 10s. On two charges of having no driver’s licence, Robert Albert Porter was fined £3 and £2; on two charges of having no warrant of fitness he was fined £3 and £2.
