COALMINE EXPLOSION
Injuries To Survivors (N.Z.PA.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO, November 14. The Welfare Ministry said today some of the coal miners being treated at hospitals in Kyushu, after last Saturday’s mine disaster were suffering from amnesia and nervous trouble. Others were unconscious with carbon monoxide poisoning and were having breathing trouble. Specialists are being dispatched to the hospitals at- the request of the emergency aid headquarters in Kyushu. The mine explosion killed 451 persons. About 270 miners are being treated at hospitals.
New Co-Bishop (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) PERTH, November 14. The Manx-born Archdeacon of Perth, Thomas Brian MacDonald, aged 52, has been appointed to the newlycreated post of Coadjutor Bishop of the Anglican diocese of Perth. He is a former army chaplain, Tobruk rat and one-time jackeroo.
