DAVIS CUP PREVIEW
Doubles Teams To Meet (NX. Press Assn —Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 12. American Davis Cup stars, C. McKinley and R. D. Ralston, met sharp opposition in the New South Wales tennis championships today. McKinley was thoroughly extended by a young Victorian, O. Davidson, in the third round of the men’s singles before he won, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, 12-10. He had to struggle for 21 hours for his win. McKinley and Ralston had a hard match before beating M J. Sangster and R. Taylor (Britain) in four sets in a men’s doubles semi-final. Sangster and Ta. lor had a great chance of prolonging the match when they led 5-2 in the fourth set, but the Americans won, 5-7. 6-4, 6-2, 7-5. The doubles championship has developed into a Davis Cup preview. The Americans qualified to meet Australia’s probable pair, R. Em. erson and N. Fraser, in the final.
