A house on a section of half an acre at 227 Linwood avenue was sold for £4550 at public auction yesterday The auctioneer was Mr Ray Simes. Hie initial bid was £2500. There were 16 bids of £lOO, and nine bids of £5O. The house has four bedrooms, livingroom, kitchen, scullery, pantry, and bathroom. Outbuildings include a laundry and a workshop The Government valuation is £2500. The land is zoned residential B. Offered on account of the estate of A. J. Blakely, a brick bungalow at 91 Grahams road. Wairaairi, was passed in at £4600. The auctioneer was Mr R. Holland. The house has a lounge, three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, diningroom, and laundry. There is a also a garage on the section of 24.2 perches.
Shearing Team —Messrs G. Mark and J. McNally, members of the Hokitika Young Farmers’ Club, will be in the West Coast district woolhandling and shearing team which will compete in Christchurch this month.
