CLASSROOM LIGHTING
Standard To Be Sought A survey of the artificial lighting in Mairehau Primary School classrooms showed an average of s'i lumens a square foot, compared with a minimum New Zealand requirement of 15 lumens, the Canterbury School Committees’ Association was told in a letter last night. Mr J. Whiten suggested that the standard required for secondary schools should be sought for all primary schools. A special sub-committee was set up to investigate minimum standard for classrooms, for recommendation to the School Committees’ Federation.
