POST AS HEADMASTER OF SARAWAK SCHOOL

NAPIER, Nov. 13. The headmaster of the Napier Boys’ High School for the last 12 years, Mr H. A. Henderson, will take up an appointment next month as headmaster of Tanjong Lobang School, Hiri, Sarawak. Fifty - seven - year - old Mr Henderson, accompanied by Mrs Henderson, will leave early next month to take up the appointment, which has been made by the Department of External Affairs. The multi-racial, co-educa-tional Tanjong Lobang School is recognised as Sarawak’s leading school. It is controlled by the Sarawak Education Department. with assistance from New Zealand under the Colombo Plan. The New Zealand Government assists the school by providing the headmaster and four assistants. Mr Henderson will succeed Mr A. D. Ruth, of Auckland, as headmaster. Before coming to Napier, Mr Henderson was first assistant at Dannevirke High School and headmaster for four years at Whangarei High School. He was educated at Timaru Boys’ High School, Otago

University and Canterbury College. He will be succeeded at Napier Boys’ High School by Mr D. P. Caird, of Christchurch.
