The Minister of Education (Mr Tennent). who suffered a mild heart attack in Kuala Lumpur on October 21, is expected to return to New Zealand in the Arcadia on December 18.—(P.A.). At the annual meeting of the Amuri County Council Mr A. A. Macfarlane was reelected chairman. Mr Macfarlane was first elected to the council in 1946. was elected chairman the following year, and has held office continually since then. Mr J. Fitzharris, assistant fields director of the Department of Lands and Survey, was welcomed as a member of the Tussock Grasslands and Mountain Lands Institute. yesterday. He replaces Mr T. W. Preston, who was an original member representing the Lands Department.
