BAPTISM ON TELEVISION
Twins Star In Programme
"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Nov. 12.
Two babies captured the hearts of television viewers yesterday morning. Their brief appearance was during the direct telecast of the service at St. David's Presbyterian Church when they were baptised by the Rev. O. T. Baragwanath, They are the twin three-month-old daughters of Mr and Mrs K. A Ricketts, of Avondale—Melanie Ruth, the elder, and Fiona Margaret. And as television stars their performance was excellent. “Most children normally behave extremely well during baptism,” said Mr Baragwanath, “but these two were ideal." Mr Baragwanath said the baptism ceremony was included because baptisms were a normal part of public worship in the Presbyterian Church. It made the service very real for viewers and brought the service home in a personal way.
