Wanganui Wool Prices Firm For Good Style

WANGANUI, Nov. 12. The first main sale of the season in Wanganui was held today when an offering of 26.232 bales was submitted to a full bench of buyers. Hogget wools comprised the bulk of the offering, with a fair proportion of ewe and wether fleece, some secondshear and early-shorn, and the usual oddments. The wool opened up in better order than usual for a November sale, but the hogget wools were rather mixed in quality and length. Fleece wools were of much the usual standard although shorter in staple. According to the official report, the market remained fully firm on the recent Wellington sale rates for good style fleece wools, secondshear and early-shorn, but prices for average and inferior fleece wools of all descriptions were erratic and inclined in buyers’ favour. Competition was fairly general. with the Continent. Bradford and the United States as the principal buyers. The following is the official range of prices:—
