Bank Clerk Sent To Prison
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 12. The appearance of a bank clerk in the Magistrate's Court on a charge of stealing £579 from his employers was due solely to the man giving himself up to the police, his counsel, Mr A. J. Nixon, said today. The clerk, Herbert Benbow Mclnnes, aged 23, admitted stealing the money from the National Bank of New Zealand's Panmure branch, and was imprisoned for four months by Mr L. G. H. Sinclair, S.M.
