FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone is centred west of Northland, pressures are very low far to the south and a cold front is moving quickly north-east over central New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Fresh south-westerlies, strong for a time on the coast, with showers: winds moderate in the afternoon, with cloudy weather. Outlook: mainly fine. Buller and Westland.—Moderate south-westerlies, fresh for a time in the north, with showers; partly cloudy and cool elsewhere. Outlook: rain. Nelson and Marlborough.—Moderate south or south-west winds: showers at first, but cloudy, cool weather later. Outlook: cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
