GYROCOPTER CRASHES
Youth Escapes Injury (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, November 10. A Te Awamutu youth. Selwyn Melville, who completed building a gyrocopter a fortnight ago. had a fortunate escape from serious injury this afternoon when he attempted to get his machine into the air. The gyrocopter was brought to the Waikato Aero Club's field at Rukuhia. At the first attempt the machine went up 50ft. Then it dropped suddenly and was wrecked. The youth escaped with minor abrasions.
