Bowlers To Be Told Of Time Limit Ruling
At the meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Centre last night a letter was received from the Judicial committee of the New Zealand Bowling Association regarding the automatic two-life system competitions. The letter concerned a time limit in a final between a two-lifer and a one-lifer. The judicial committee had been asked to give a ruling as to whether a time limit could be imposed in such a game. Its ruling was that a game between a two-lifer and a one-lifer was not a final but a possible final and that a time limit could be imposed. After a short discussion it was resolved that all clubs be informed of the ruling and that it be displayed on all competitions played under the automatic system. The administration committee of the New Zealand Association advised that the affiliation of the Burnham club had been accepted. Delay Reported Mr C. T. Lascelles, representing the Umpires Association, said that a club had not sent particulars of the draw for the Manning Cup with its
players. This caused a delay in the starting of the games. It was resolved that one player travelling with players to another green should have full particulars regarding the section each four was to play in. Mr M. A. Le Cren informed delegates that 48 entries from 27 clubs had been received for the Robinson Shield. Twenty-two entries have been received for the Watson Shield competition, which will be played in three sections. It was resolved to invite members of the Bay of Plenty centre to visit Christchurch during the 1964-65 season.
