REQUEST FOR ASYLUM

A senior Government official from Rumania, who arrived in London a month ago, has asked to be allowed to stay in Britain, a Home Office spokesman said today The man is Mr Aurel Bogdanescu. aged 49. sub-direc-tor of Navron, the Rumanian state organisation dealing with shipping. A Home Office spokesman said: “He has asked if he may 'be allowed to stay and the request is under consideration.”
