Exhibits For Show The emphasis was strictly on self-ipnopelled motorised farm equipment in the agricultural machinery parade yesterday afternoon. It gave the public a preview from the city streets of what will be on display at the Canterbury Show tomorrow. Fifty-four new machines, including many tractors and self - propelled combines, manufactured in widely dispersed Western countries, brought hundreds of people into the streets to have a look. The parade was held in bright sunshine. Among the most interested spectators were those who came out of the Department of Agriculture building in Armagh street. Traffic officers shepherded ttie parade through the city on its way to the show grounds at a speed governed by seme Of the tiny garden tractors. The only incident of the parade was rectified so efficiently that only a handful of spectators realised it had happened. A self-propelled hay-baler became temporarily ‘ ‘ lost. ’ ’ Fifteen minutes later, it rejoined the parade at the corner of Oxford terrace and Worcester street. Dae hay-baler driver, Mr Charles Wallace, said: “Mj exhaust fell off.”
