OXFORD FAILURES
Premier’s Son Ploughed (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 11. The British Prime Minister’s 20-year-old son, David Douglas-Home, has been rusticated from Oxford Univertity for failing his preliminary exam in modern languages. Mr Douglas-Home went to Christ Church College, Oxford. in October, 1962, the “Daily Telegraph” said. He failed the preliminary examination for undergraduates at the end of the second term. Undergraduates are allowed a second attempt at the examination. He failed again and was not allowed to return to the college last month. He has been rusticated for two terms which means, according to a college spokesman, that he will be allowed to return at the beginning of the next summer term. He is studying at home, the "Daily Telegraph” said. His father, Sir Alec Doug-last-Home. also went to Christ Church, the "Daily Express” said.
