(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. A team from the Wellington Hospital medical unit, with personnel seconded from the Health Department, will begin a month-long survey of a group of Rotorua Maoris next Wednesday. The team’s aim is to obtain information about the extent of heart disease, diabetes, gout and related problems, and will include a detailed assessment of the “nutrition status” of the group. Results will be compared with those obtained from recent studies at Ruatahuna in the Urewera and at Tiki Tiki on the East Coast.
