(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Oct. 29.

The South Island draughts championship was conducted during the Labour week-end holiday in the rooms of the Brunner Workingmen's Club It was very keenly contested.

The winner was G. Hadlee, of Timaru. who scored 9 points G. Macmurray (Dunedin) and J. Cockburn (West Coast) finished equal in second place with 81 points. In the handicap section the winner was J. Borlase (Nelson) with 8i points. T. Dowling (West Coast) was second with 7 points and H. Higgins third with 5J points.
