EXPENSIVE REFIT
(.VZ. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, October 27. Modernisation of the Royal Navy’s largest ship, the 44,100-ton aircraft carrier Eagle will cost nearly £3O million, according to “The Times.”
This is almost twice the original cost of £15.795,000 When the Eagle went into dock in 1969 the work was expected to cost £2O million. The vessel was laid down in 1942 sad completed in 1951.
