Wilson (Invercargill) had no difficulty in winning the South Island open gokarting championship held in Invercargill today, scoring an aggregate of 155 points to finish well ahead of Ttoaru’s J. Smillie, jtm., who scored 130. Third was S. Jones (Invercargill) with 125. The chametonehip. raced to four heats of two mile* each, attracted a large crowd of spectators. One spill added to the spectacle for the crowd. J Smillae, sen., somersaulted his machine completely after hitting the rear of another machine, but he escaped with a grazed teg.
