Striding away early and holding a lead <£ up to 12 lengths during the running of the Stratford Handicap, Red View effortleesly won that event, the first leg of the TA B double, at the Stretford Racing Club's spring meeting today. The Stewart Handicap, the second leg at the double, went to Golden Muse by a long neck. The combination paid £2l 6s M for £l. The track was hard and fast and the weather fine. A large crowd attended. James, who held a rider's licence fi>r half a century , had his Hast ride two weeks ago jand his last metropolitan win in 1963. He was thrown and killed when hie mountk Glens Choice, stumbled and skidded on its knees. He landed on his head in front ot the horse.
