Pearce’s XI at Scarborough by 32 runs on the stroke of time. From the third ball of the last over, K. Andrew gave a catch to mid-wicket and the West Indians had gained their fourteenth win in first-class matches. They also drew 14, and lost only twice, to Yorkshire and England. Scores WEST INDIANS

He is the first New South Wales chairman of the board' since Mr F. M. Cush served a two-year term in 195657. Mr Macmillan succeeds Sir Donald Bradman, who was chairman for the last three years. Mr L. Rush (Victoria) was re-elected treasurer.
