TOHEROA SURVEY
Completion Of Digging (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 11. The digging for the Marine Department’s toheroa survey on Muriwai beach was successfully completed last week. A marine biologist, Mr J. Greenway, is beginning preliminary analysis of the figures on totals and sizes. The analysis will be completed in Wellington. Next week Mr Greenway will begin a similar survey on the 40 miles of Dargaville beach. He says the beds are so thick there he does not expect to cover it all but only a representative part. A survey of Ninety Mile Beach—s2 miles—will complete practical work at the end of the month.
