FEtLDING. September 11. Judged the champton bull and winner of the Beef Shorthorn Breeders’ Association's Meat and Wool Cup at the association's annual national show and sale at f eliding today, the entry of Mr A. H Topp, of Sefton, was sold at auction for 400gns. The top price of the sale, however, was obtained by the Seddon breeder Mr K. M. i Dysart, whose led two-year bull, Antrim Jupiter, unplaced in the show class, was sold for 420gns. It was purchased by Glenmore Station, Hawke’s Bay. The champion bull was purchased by Mr E. G. Butters, of Timaru. Bidding throughout the sale was slow for most lines and buyers showed preference for bulls from well-known studs. Of the 57 bulls offered at auction 10 failed to sell. Successful sales amounted to 8145gns to return an average of 173gns. Led two-year-old bulls realised 2195gns for six that sold for an average of SMgns and led yearlings realised MOgns for four bulls at an average of 295gns. At last year’s sale 45 bulls sold for MTOgns and the average price was 148gns. Much of the offering was purchased by agents operating on behalf of an undisclosed client
