INFERIOR FOOTWEAR
Sale To Nurses Criticised (N.Z. Press Association) DARGAVILLE, Sept. 11. Inferior footwear sold to nurses in New Zealand was criticised by Miss A. McL. Pirrie, matron of the Paparoa Hospital, in a report to the Kaipara Hospital committee meeting yesterday. n Miss Pirrie said nurses were paying £3 for a pair of shoes that became shabby and lost their shape after about six weeks’ wear. Somewhere someone was getting rich by manufacturing this trash at the expense of nurses who have to supply their own shoes, said Miss Pirrie. The committee decided to ask the Northland Hospital Board to investigate the quality of the shoes.
