(HZ. Preet Association-Copyright)
LONDON, September 10. An amazing attack on Lord Denning and Mr Harold Wilson was made last night by Mr lan Gilmour. Conservative member of Parliament for Central Norfolk. the "Daily Herald’’ reported. He demanded that Lord Denning’s report should not be published if it went beyond the security aspects at the Profumo affair. Mr Gilmour, a barrister and former editor at the “Spectator.” said the report “should be buried with the rest of this whole boring business” The “Daily Herald’’ said Mr Gilmour said: “The spectacle of Mr Wilson licking h.s chops in anticipation—like an addict of pornography awaiting the next titillating instalment —is the most unseemly one that a Leader of the Opposition has presented for many years.” Mr Gilmour said Mr Wilson had let it be known that he wanted the report pub-
lished in full, apart from deletions necessary on security grounds. Mr Gilmour referred to "disturbing indications" that Lord Denning had strayed beyond matters of security in his inquiries, tfie "Daily Herald" said.
It quoted Mr Gilmour as saying: “What ha# all this insidious interviewing of prostitutes got to do with security? What has the Argyll divorce case to do with security?” The House of Lords might be recalled to give the report Parliamentary privilege, the “Daily Herald" said. U this were done and the document publlslied. it could be printed in newspapers without fear of libel action.
The “Daily Herald" commented that the bitterness Jf Mr Gilmour’s attack reflected the anxiety among many Conservative members of Parliament that publication of the Denning report would damage the Government’s electton chances beyond possible r<t>air.
