SCHOOL AGAIN THIS WEEK
New Buildings To Come Into Use
Several new primary school builidngs will come into use when the third term commences today. New schools are almost completed at Arthur's Pass and Governor’s Bay, and will be occupied shortly, while additions at Carew and Grey’s Corner are also almost ready for occupation. A new administration block at Opawa has already been occupied, and the block at Spreydon is practically ready. A total of nearly 57,000 pupils, swelled by the numbers of five-year-olds beginning school this term, will return to school in the Canterbury Education Board's district.
District high schools and Aranui High School will return to work this morning, Shirley Boys’ High School on Tuesday and other State and private high schools next week.
