Immigrants From U.K. (Special Crspdt. N.ZP.A.) LONDON, Sept. 5. More than 7000 skilled workers have emigrated from Britain to South Africa this year, nearly double the number for all 1962. Immigrants to South Africa numbered 16,000 during the first six months this year and the figure will be more than 30,000 by the end of the year. "We are attracting all kinds of qualified people,” said a spokesman for the South African Embassy in London. "They include skilled industrial* workers as well as university graduates and doctors,” he said.
Each immigrant is given £6O as a gift. Most have jobs before arriving In South Africa. Others are guaranteed some type of employment. Acommodation is provided free until a man is placed in a job.
