Cutting Peak Loads
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 20. The Waitemata Electricpower Board is to spend £400.000 on gas-turbine generating plant to reduce its peak loads, the chairman of the board (Mr E. T. Roberts! announced today. Consumers can expect cheaper power when the scheme is completed about 19» Savings are expected to be £152.000 a year. The proposal, already approved by the Minister of Electricity (Mr Goosman), represents a major development in power policy.
