PLAZA THEATRE ALTERATION
Shopping Arcade Planned Proposals for altering the Plaza Theatre were put before the City Council on Monday evening. It is proposed to extend a timber first floor from a shopping arcade on the ground floor, and retain a small theatrette on the existing first floor. One staircase in the front will be removed and a new fire exit be put in. opening on to strand lane. It would be necessary for an application to be made for a building permit, the townplanning committee told the council but in the meantime approval in principle should be given for egress to discharge into the lane.
