BREEZES ROAD FLOODING
Board Authorises Relief Work The Christchurch Drainage Board has received letters from five property-owners in Breezes road complaining of flooding which they consider is caused by the board's oxidation ponds. The writers live near properties in Cuthberts road which have also been flooded. There the board has already carried out certain relief works. The chief engineer (operations), Mr H. F. Page made a preliminary investigation, and, in a report to a meeting of the board last evening, said that some relief could be given by the construction of an open drain and the provision of a certain amount of filling. The work would cost about £2650, he said. The board decided to do the work as soon as possible, and instructed Mr Page to prepare plans of relief measures for the area.
