Situation.—An intense anti-cyclone centred south of New Zealand is moving eastwards. A shallow depression lies over the western Tasman Sea and a south-easterly airstream flows over New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate southerlies tending north-easterly; cloudy and cold, with a few showers at first, but fair periods increasing. Outlook: partly cloudy. Marlborough.—Moderate to fresh southerlies, tending easterly; cloudy and cold, with occasional showers, but increasing fair periods this afternoon. Outlook: partly cloudy. Nelson.—Light to moderate winds, easterlies predominating; a few showers about the eastern ranges, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. Outlook: fine.
